Doctor Who.

For almost as long as I can remember I've known about Doctor Who, but I was never really a fan. I always turned up my nose at the program, thinking it was just too silly, too cheesy, even for me. Watching people in funny clothes run away from monsters that looked like refrigerator boxes wrapped up in tin foil wasn't something I could take seriously.

On the recommendation of a friend, I started watching the new series that rebooted the franchise in 2005 with Christopher Eccleston as the Doctor. CAL teased me and said that I would become a "Who-head," which I vehemently denied.

Having watched about half of the episodes from the first new series, I think I may be turning into a Who-head. This show has more than 40 years worth of material out there, which has now become of interest to me.

God help me.

I haven't watched it mostly for fear of getting sucked in. Plus it's got such a huge history to it, I'm not sure where to jump in (though I might follow suit and go with Eccleston). I know lots of people who enjoy it, so I'll probably check it out sometime.

I started watching it with Eccleston. It is cheesy, but doesn't take itself too seriously (I think.) Don't expect it to alter your life, but it is fun to watch. The television equivalent of skee-ball.
